By Admin
Our Terms of Service are designed to be clear, fair, and transparent—so every client and Pro/Companion knows exactly what to expect, what we do, and what we don’t do. Here’s a simple breakdown of the key points from dayfriend.co.uk/terms.
Who We Are: Introductory Marketplace
DayFriend is based in Greater Manchester, UK, and operates as an introductory agency under CQC guidance .
Crucially:
- We do not employ any Pro/Companions. All are self‑employed and run their own business - We are not a care agency and are not CQC‑registered as a care provider
- We only facilitate introductions between you and independent providers
- All service agreements, responsibilities, and decisions are made directly between you and the Pro/Companion Who Can Join & What Checks Apply We split providers into two streams to make requirements clear:
🟢 Green Stream (Tiers 1–4, 9) - Must complete Stripe Identity biometric verification before going live - Must hold valid Domiciliary Care Insurance for non‑physical support
🟠 Orange Stream (Tiers 5–8, 10) - Must hold an Enhanced DBS with Adults’ Barred List (via uCheck or verified on the Update Service) - Must hold valid Self‑Employed Carer Insurance for personal/physical care - Profiles are manually reviewed before activation
Important: Identity and DBS checks only confirm status—we do not assess competence, training, or suitability. All verified details are shown clearly on each profile so you can decide for yourself .
Booking & Payments
- All bookings and payments must go through DayFriend—arranging work or payment outside the platform is not allowed and may lead to account removal
- We add a 15% non‑refundable booking fee for platform use; Pro/Companions keep 100% of their stated rate
Emergencies: We may waive rules for verified serious illness or bereavement—email hello@dayfriend.co.uk with proof .
Key Responsibilities For Pro/Companions - Keep profile details, insurance, and qualifications accurate and up to date - Only take on work you are qualified to do
- Tier 5 Travel Assist: Accompany only—do not drive or provide transport; clients arrange their own travel For Clients - Review profiles carefully and satisfy yourself on suitability, checks, and insurance - Provide accurate information about needs and treat providers with respect
- For complex medical care, consult healthcare professionals or your local council
- Safety & Conduct - Zero tolerance: Abuse, discrimination, false info, or working under the influence leads to immediate suspension or removal - We are not liable for actions or services provided by users; our maximum liability is the booking fee you paid - Governing law: England and Wales - Material changes to terms are emailed to you; continued use means acceptance Full Terms This summary is for clarity only
