Helping Our Community Through a Difficult Economy: DayFriend’s Launch Offer

When household budgets are under pressure, practical support can feel difficult to arrange. You may need help with cleaning, errands, pet care, companionship, travel or support for an older relative: but every additional cost matters.
That is why DayFriend is launching a limited offer to help make trusted local support more affordable during a difficult economy.
There is no booking fee for the first 50 bookings. Clients pay only the person doing the work. DayFriend’s usual booking fee is refunded once the session is confirmed.
This is a limited launch offer. It is not unlimited, permanent or guaranteed to remain available after the first 50 eligible bookings. Before you book, check the current offer terms on dayfriend.co.uk.
Why we are introducing this offer
DayFriend exists to help people find reliable, flexible support without committing to a subscription or long-term package.
You might need:
- A dog walker while you recover from an injury
- Help with shopping, light domestic tasks or household organisation
- Company for an older parent
- Support attending an appointment
- Assistance navigating an airport
- Help with paperwork, digital tasks or online forms
- A short break from caring responsibilities
- More regular senior or live-in support
In a difficult economy, paying an additional booking fee can be enough to make someone delay asking for help. Our launch offer is intended to reduce that upfront cost and make it easier for more people to take a practical first step.
At the same time, it supports independent local professionals. Companions and support professionals keep 100% of their stated rate. DayFriend does not take commission from the person providing the service.
How the DayFriend launch offer works
DayFriend normally charges a transparent 15% booking fee on top of the companion’s stated rate. This helps fund the platform, verification processes, secure booking tools and support.
For the launch offer:
- The offer applies to the first 50 eligible bookings.
- Clients pay only the rate of the person doing the work.
- DayFriend’s usual booking fee is refunded once the session is confirmed.
The campaign image also refers to rates from £15 per hour. This is an illustrative starting rate shown in the campaign: not a guaranteed price. Actual rates vary by provider, service, location, experience and session requirements. Live-in support may be priced weekly rather than hourly.
For example, if a provider lists a rate of £15 per hour for a two-hour session, the illustrative provider cost would be £30. The provider’s actual rate, availability and service details always take priority. Check the booking summary and current offer terms before confirming payment.
Support that can help you stay independent
DayFriend connects you with independent, self-employed companions and support professionals for flexible, session-based help.
You can browse available providers by postcode and choose the type of support that fits your situation.
Domestic cleaning and practical home support
You can request help with light domestic tasks, shopping, errands and general assistance at home. This may be useful if you are busy, recovering from an illness or injury, or helping a family member manage everyday routines.
Domestic support is not a substitute for specialist clinical care or regulated services. Review the provider’s profile carefully and confirm exactly what they offer before booking.

Pet care and dog walking
Pet care can include dog walking, pet sitting, feeding, grooming assistance and general animal care.
This can give you flexibility when work, travel, mobility or other responsibilities make it difficult to care for your pet yourself. Ask about the provider’s experience with your animal, access arrangements, walking requirements and emergency contact process.

Senior care at home
Senior Care is designed for non-medical support in the home. Depending on the provider, this may include meal preparation, routine support, companionship and accompanied outings.
If you are arranging help for a parent or relative, discuss their preferences with them wherever possible. The goal is to support their choices and independence: not to take control away from them.

Social Companionship
Social Companionship means professional, platonic support. It may include:
- Conversation and friendly visits
- Walks and coffee outings
- Attending activities or exhibitions
- Accompaniment to appointments
- Shared hobbies and local activities
- Support getting out and about
DayFriend is not a dating platform. Social Companionship is intended for adults seeking professional, friendly support and human connection.
You can explore Social Companionship.
Travel Assist
Travel Assist can support elderly travellers and other adults who want help during a journey. Depending on the provider and booking, this may include airport navigation, terminal assistance, appointment support or accompanied travel.
Travel Assist does not replace airline assistance, airport accessibility services, medical support or emergency care. Confirm the scope of help you need with the provider before booking.

Digital and Professional Assistance
You may also find help with practical tasks such as:
- Using a smartphone, tablet or computer
- Managing calendars and appointments
- Sorting mail and paperwork
- Completing local administrative tasks
- Technology coaching
- Gardening, tutoring or language practice
- Other non-medical specialist assistance
These services can help you remain organised and confident without handing over unnecessary control of your personal affairs.

How DayFriend helps you make an informed choice
Affordability matters, but so does trust. DayFriend uses different verification requirements depending on the type and risk level of the service.
Green Stream: everyday support
Green Stream services include lower-risk categories such as domestic support, pet care, social companionship, admin support and other everyday assistance.
Providers in the Green Stream use Stripe Identity biometric identity checks, including government photo ID and a live selfie match, before going live.
Orange Stream: care-related support
Orange Stream services include higher-risk categories such as:
- Senior Care
- Personal Care
- Travel Assist
- Carer Relief
- Live-in Support
Providers offering these services must hold an Enhanced DBS certificate with an Adults’ Barred List check. DayFriend also checks the DBS Update Service where applicable, and an administrator manually reviews the information before the provider can go live.
Verification is important, but it is not a guarantee of a particular outcome. You should still check the provider’s profile, experience, qualifications, insurance and service scope. Ask questions before booking, especially when arranging support for another person.
Secure payments and session confirmation
DayFriend uses secure payments through Stripe. The platform also uses a QR code and PIN process to help confirm that the correct person arrived and that the session started.
This creates a clear record of the booking and helps protect both sides of the marketplace. After the session, follow the platform’s confirmation process carefully so that the booking can be completed correctly: including any applicable launch-offer refund.
The system supports transparency, but it does not remove the need for sensible communication. Confirm the meeting details, contact information, expected tasks and any relevant access instructions in advance.
Before you book: a quick eligibility checklist
Because the launch offer is limited, check the details before making arrangements.
- Check whether the first 50 eligible bookings have already been reached.
- Review the current offer terms on dayfriend.co.uk.
- Confirm that the service you need is listed and available in your area.
- Check the provider’s stated rate, availability and experience.
- Confirm whether the provider has the verification required for that service.
- Discuss qualifications, insurance and the exact scope of work.
- Make sure you understand the booking total and any refund conditions shown before payment.
- Confirm how the QR code or PIN will be used when the session begins.
- Keep communication and payment within the DayFriend platform.
Do not assume that an offer is available simply because you have seen an earlier campaign image or social media post. The live terms on the website apply.
What DayFriend is: and what it is not
DayFriend is an introductory marketplace connecting clients with independent, self-employed companions and support professionals.
DayFriend is not:
- A care provider
- An employer of the people listed on the platform
- A medical service
- An emergency response service
- A substitute for NHS, council or regulated care services
- A dating platform
Providers are responsible for the services they deliver. Clients are responsible for checking that a provider’s skills, qualifications, insurance and availability match their needs.
If someone requires medical care, urgent assistance, regulated personal care or specialist clinical support, contact the appropriate NHS, council or regulated care service.
A small practical step towards more accessible support
The launch offer is our way of helping the community make the most of trusted local support when budgets are stretched.
For the first 50 eligible bookings, you can access DayFriend without the usual booking fee, while the independent professional keeps 100% of their stated rate. That means you can explore practical help with less upfront cost, and local providers can continue offering their time and skills on their own terms.
Whether you need affordable home help in the UK, elderly companionship, senior care at home, Travel Assist, pet care or help finding a carer near you, start by reviewing the available profiles and asking clear questions.
