Stay-in Support from DayFriend connects you or your loved one with vetted, Enhanced DBS‑checked companions who live at your home for an agreed period, providing constant presence, daily help, and genuine reassurance. It’s designed for anyone who needs ongoing safety, companionship, or routine support—whether recovering from illness, while family are away, or simply to stay comfortable and independent where you belong.
Unlike nursing or clinical care, this service focuses on co‑residential companionship and practical assistance, keeping you in familiar surroundings with full control over who supports you.

Every arrangement covers:

Pricing & Booking Rules
- - Ongoing Stay‑in Support: From £950 per week
- - Short‑term respite: £135 per day — subject to a minimum 7‑day booking (this cannot be waived)
- - For shorter cover, see our Carer Relief service.
Important: If an arrangement must end early, companions receive at least four hours’ notice to vacate the property.
How It Works

2. Choose your companion: You and your family decide who is the right fit.
3. Book securely: Create an account to arrange dates, confirm details, and process payments.
4. Start support: Your chosen companion moves in, and you stay in control throughout.
DayFriend operates as an introductory marketplace only. The agreement is made directly between you and the companion; DayFriend does not employ companions or act as party to your arrangement.
Our Standards for Companions
- -All Stay‑in Support companions must meet strict requirements before appearing on the platform:
- - Enhanced DBS check with Adults’ Barred List, processed via uCheck and manually approved by DayFriend — profiles stay hidden until cleared
- - Valid self‑employed carer insurance covering the services they offer
- - Relevant personal care and residential experience clearly listed on their profile
- - Additional review for every confirmed placement before it begins
