Your profile is the first thing clients see when deciding who to book. A complete, professional profile gets significantly more bookings than a bare one — here's how to get yours right in five minutes.
Adding your profile photo
Your photo is the single most important part of your profile. To upload one:
Go to your Dashboard and open the Profile tab
Tap the camera icon on the photo placeholder
Choose a photo from your device and upload — maximum size 5MB
Choose a photo that is clear, recent and smiling. A friendly, well-lit headshot builds instant trust — avoid group photos, sunglasses, filters or anything blurry. Clients book people they feel they already know.
Writing your "About you" section
This is where you show clients you're the right person for the services you offer. Your bio should reflect your genuine competency and experience for each tier you've selected:
Offering domestic support? Mention your attention to detail and reliability
Offering pet care? Talk about your experience with animals
Offering companionship? Let your warmth and personality come through
Offering care tiers? Describe your relevant hands-on experience clearly clients booking personal or complex care will choose based on what you've actually done
Keep it honest and specific. "Four years supporting adults with complex needs" tells a client far more than "hardworking and friendly."
Setting Your Rates & Booking Slots
To make your profile competitive yet profitable, navigate to the Rates & slots tab. Here, you will find an Hourly rate slider ranging from £15.00 to £200.00. Adjust this slider to reflect the value of your services. Keep in mind that clients will pay your set rate plus a 15% DayFriend fee.
Right below your rate, you can create customized Booking slots (e.g., "Lunch" or "Half day tour"). Note that the platform requires a minimum slot length of 2 hours, so ensure your availability and slot descriptions align with your hourly pricing.
Complete every section
Work through each tab — Location, Service tiers, Rates & slots, Schedule and Availability. Profiles with every section completed appear more professional and give clients the confidence to book. An incomplete profile is the most common reason a verified companion gets overlooked.
One final tip
Your profile isn't fixed — you can update your photo, bio, rates and tiers at any time from your Dashboard. As you complete sessions and gain reviews, revisit your profile to keep it fresh.
